BeatBrowser vs Playwright MCP

Add a human-facing task workspace to your Chrome workflow.

Dimension BeatBrowser Playwright MCP
Chrome sessions Connected extension in current profile Extension mode can also use existing Chrome tabs and sessions
Connection Extension/local bridge MCP server with persistent, isolated, CDP or extension modes
Task UI Bundled task cards, progress, handoff and cleanup MCP commands; extension approval is not a task dashboard
Agent access MCP, CLI and Node TaskSpace/Page SDK MCP; Playwright CLI/Skills and library are adjacent products
Isolation Same-profile task windows share storage Isolated browser contexts and distinct profile modes available
Engineering fit Interactive signed-in tasks with human control Rich automation/testing and protocol ecosystem

Choose by workflow

Choose BeatBrowser when task visibility, takeover and local recovery are the main workflow. Choose Playwright for its testing ecosystem and explicit context/profile modes. Both are open source and can access existing signed-in Chrome; neither gets a universal speed advantage from architecture alone.
