Thank you J-Jamet! I really enjoy KeePassDX! I've been going through all my online accounts and hardening the passwords to 256 bit random entropy. I want to be ready when quantum computers start becoming mainstream and Grover's algorithm halves the key strength of symmetric encryption keys.
I enjoy clicking on the dice icon and rolling random passwords with high entropy. The option to roll random words from a Diceware wordlist is also very cool!
There's so many great features in KeePassDX! The user interface is well designed and the graphics look amazing! It's impressive how KeePassDX tightly integrates into the Android operating system and calls Native Android platform APIs. Such as password autofill, biometric authentication and passkeys. The MagiKeyboard is also impressive!
One of the best features of KeePassDX is the ability to save FIDO2 passkeys in a portable encrypted password database which can be automatically backed up to multiple cloud storage accounts. I could get dropped off anywhere in the world without my phone, and regain access to all my accounts. Simply by logging into cloud storage and downloading my KeePassDX database.
It's important to choose a cloud storage provider that doesn't require two factor authentication since you probably won't be able to log into any of your email accounts without your KeePassDX database. Proton Drive allows login using only a password, so it's a great option for emergency situations. Simply memorize the password for Proton Drive and you'll have access to your KeePassDX database anywhere in the world.
I'm also happy KeePassDX supports Argon2 key derivation function. If someone unlocks your password database, it's game over. Having strong password guessing protection is critical. Slowing down password guessing by exhausting memory is a strong deterrent for anyone thinking about trying to guess the password of a KeePassDX encrypted database.
Setting Argon2 memory usage to 1024 MiB instantly cripples a Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 32 GiB to only 32 parallel password guesses due to GPU memory exhaustion. A snails pace, and I can't see anyone even attempting to try it. (◠‿◕)
As you can see I'm a huge fan of KeePassDX. I think it's the best password manager and we're all fortunate to have the opportunity to experience it.
I wish you happiness. That's the most important thing in life. Don't force yourself to do something if it doesn't bring you happiness and don't let anyone turn you into something your not. Take care!
