Cannot change HomeBase 3 guard mode from Home Assistant on firmware (3.7.8.4)

I have two Eufy HomeBase 3 devices connected to Home Assistant using the Eufy Security integration.

Both devices report their state correctly to Home Assistant.

However, only one allows guard mode to be changed from Home Assistant.

Working HomeBase
Firmware: 3.7.0.6
Guard mode can be changed from Home Assistant using the select._guard_mode entity.

Non-working HomeBase
Firmware: 3.7.8.4
Guard mode cannot be changed from Home Assistant.

What works

Guard mode can be changed from the Eufy mobile app
Home Assistant receives the updated state when changed in the app

What does not work

Changing guard mode from Home Assistant using the UI
Calling select.select_option on select.original_hb3_guard_mode

Expected behaviour
Home Assistant should be able to change guard mode on both HomeBase devices.

Actual behaviour
Home Assistant can read guard mode but cannot change it on the HomeBase running firmware 3.7.8.4.

I am experiencing the exact same issue.

Setup:

• HomeBase 3 (T8030)
• Firmware: 3.7.8.4
• Eufy Security integration: 8.2.4
• Home Assistant: (latest version at time of writing)

Problem:
Changing the Guard Mode from Home Assistant does not work. No log no nothing

• Using select.homebase_guard_mode → selecting "Home" or "Away" briefly updates in HA, but immediately reverts back to "Disarmed".
• Using alarm_control_panel.homebase services (arm_home / arm_away) also has no effect.
• No errors are shown in Home Assistant logs (even with debug enabled).

Important observations:

• Changing modes in the official Eufy app works instantly and correctly.
• HA can still READ the correct state from Eufy.
• Only WRITE actions (changing guard mode) are failing.

Troubleshooting already done:

• Reloaded integration
• Restarted Home Assistant
• Removed and re-added the Eufy integration
• Tested both alarm_control_panel and select entities
• Enabled debug logging (no relevant errors)

Behavior:

• When selecting a mode in HA UI, it switches for a split second and immediately jumps back to "Disarmed".

Conclusion:
This appears to be a regression or compatibility issue between the integration and HomeBase 3 firmware 3.7.8.4, specifically affecting write actions for Guard Mode.

Let me know if you need logs or further testing.
