[BUG] Random doesnt get the entire folder

When clicking the random song button on a big enough folder it doesnt loop the entirety of the folder, just a small subset of it.

My guess is that by "Random song button" you mean the shuffle button.

The app is built for speed and efficiency - it loads tracks in small batches, which is why the playback feels so light and fast.
The default repeat mode is Repeat All or in other words loop. This means your tracks will still be played once they are loaded. Note the queue updates as you scroll the playing folder or when player gets closer to the end of the currently loaded list.

I re-read my comment and realized I didnt properly explain my problem.

So, I have a folder who has 797 tracks. I want to listen to this folder in shuffle mode, randomly. Naturally, I click the folder, click the first song, and then the shuffle button. After 20 songs, the first songs comes again, and this entire 20 songs subset list repeats ad aeternum.

How to replicate:

Click folder => Click song => Click shuffle => Click next song more than 20 times

That's definitely a bug. We'll check into it.

Testing it more I found that if I scroll all the way to the bottom of the folder, and THEN click on a song, all the folder tracks are added correctly.

Its annoying to do if your folder is really large, but it is a work around if anyone is also suffering with this.

The queue works with whatever is loaded at the moment you tap a song, and it keeps adding more tracks as you scroll. This approach ensures playback starts immediately when you select a song and avoids unnecessary back-end calls. For instance if a folder contains 1,000 tracks, fetching all of them at once would be inefficient and would significantly impact app performance.

However, this approach has the side effect you identified: if you don’t scroll far enough, tracks beyond that point won’t be added to the queue. That’s what we need to fix - ideally by checking the source and position of the currently playing track and the size of the queue against the total number of tracks in the folder, even when the user is no longer actively viewing that folder.
