This repo is used to work through the related video course
The course is currently under construction. Instructions on how to take the course will be available here when it is complete.
Some working knowledge of the following technologies:
- Javascript (ES6+)
- Ruby on Rails
- Asynchronus javascript requests
This course intends to give you a cursory, starting foundation to working with Stimulus JS in Rails. The concepts covered in the course should be easily transportable to non-Rails sites as the focus will be on Stimulus JS itself.
- Installing Stimulus
- Creating your first controller
- Setting up actions (click, blur, etc.)
- Working with targets (DOM nodes)
- The Stimulus lifecycle.
- Connecting to a rails form.
- Creating custom events to communicate between controllers
