Five simultaneous task launches could exhaust three lock attempts on the current-session marker. Give marker writes a two-second deadline. Only ordinary marker writes use the new retry policy. Preserve live-owner checks, atomic writes, and the retry policy for explicit deadlines in hooks and the reaper.

Correct two test lifecycle races. The Darwin fixture now waits for a distinct positive child PID. Detached advisor fixtures wait for terminal state and worker exit before cleanup.

Prepare v1.8.1 with the advisor and reliability changes from #77. The v1.8.0 tag remains for provenance. Its Release was never published.

Validation: the marker contention regression fails before the fix. The state tests and five-task concurrent integration scenario pass after it. The existing hook recovery regression also passes. Independent Fable review approved the narrowed retry policy. Changed-line mutation score is 94.44% (14 killed, 3 timeouts, 1 survived). Full local checks pass: 1280 unit tests, 144 integration tests, 33 E2E tests, lint, and both typechecks. Hosted checks must pass before merge.
