- Line 16: Update ZCode configuration creation around ServerContainerKey so
registering unityMCP preserves existing servers from the user-level
~/.agents/mcp.json that ZCode will skip; migrate those entries into the native
mcp.servers container before writing it, or warn the user before replacing the
effective server list.

ZCode reads ~/.agents/mcp.json only while ~/.zcode/cli/config.json defines no servers, and it does not merge the two files. Configuring ZCode adds unityMCP to the native file, so servers kept only in ~/.agents/mcp.json stop loading. Detect that case before writing and, after a successful write, log the names of the affected servers (never their values) and how to keep them. The .agents file is left untouched. Entries are not copied between the files: their per-server format is not documented as identical, and copying would duplicate secrets. An unreadable or non-object native config counts as having no servers, because Configure rewrites it as a fresh object. Add an installation step and docs with the same guidance, and list ZCode in the per-client toggle section.
Description
Adds ZCode to the MCP client list and enables creating and removing connection settings from Unity's settings window. Uses the native user configuration that ZCode reads preferentially, preserving existing model settings and other MCP servers.

Additional Notes
An actual connection to ZCode itself and operation on Windows and Linux are not verified. Regression tests use temporary files and also check the existing configuration formats for Cursor, Kilo Code, and VS Code.
Fork CI verification
Checked the GitHub Actions results for the same commit
a85de7b7784fbe23ec4e15ec515af1bb76decf66. The Python tests succeeded, as did the harness tests that run without Unity.C# compilation also succeeded with Unity 6000.0.75f1. Runtime and Editor were compiled for each of the Windows, macOS, and Linux configurations.
The docs build succeeded.
The E2E tests and the Unity Editor tests that require a license were skipped.
The upstream GitHub Actions are waiting for a maintainer to approve the run for the current commit. The CI successes above are results from runs on the fork that verified the same commit.
Review follow-up
Commit
5749fe54a7a8dbb2dc2de599e9f62da1810eefb7addresses the automated review finding that configuring ZCode can hide servers that are kept only in~/.agents/mcp.json: ZCode skips that file once~/.zcode/cli/config.jsondefines any server (ZCode MCP guide). Before writing, the configurator now checks for that case and, after a successful write, logs the names (never the values) of the servers that stop loading and how to keep them. It does not copy entries between the two files, because the guide does not document their per-server format as identical and copying would duplicate secrets;~/.agents/mcp.jsonis never modified. An installation step and the docs carry the same guidance, and ZCode is now listed in the per-client toggle section.Verification for the latest commit:
