Why

MCP Analytics goes GA on 2026-11-10 (PostHog/marketing#407). This is the release-day "Remove all beta tags" change, staged as one merge. Don't merge before 2026-11-10.

What

Commit Change Drop it if
docs(mcp-analytics): drop product beta markers for GA Start-here "in beta" callout, "Open beta" callouts on the API, MCP and web app surface pages, web app card badge, docs sidebar badge, status: 'beta' in src/data/tools.ts, product page and product analytics copy, stale early-access comment No decision, always ships
... drop the Python beta label Removes the "Beta SDK" callout. Python becomes "Supported" in the install table Python keeps a beta label
... drop the TypeScript beta label Replaces "Beta SDK" with a pre-1.0 versioning note, since @posthog/mcp is 0.25.x. TypeScript becomes "Supported" TypeScript keeps a beta label. If 1.0 ships first, delete the note instead. Also covers the tutorial's "official (beta) SDK"
... drop the Go beta label Keeps the callout pointing at Limits, without "beta". Go becomes "Supported" Go keeps a beta label
docs(blog): drop "currently in beta"... how-ai-agents-behave.mdx says MCP Analytics is "currently in beta!" You'd rather not edit a dated post

Ruby and Rust stay Experimental. The Ruby gem still prints its own "experimental and not officially supported" warning, so the docs can't drop the label by themselves. The Ruby edit sits on the lucas/mcp-analytics-ga-ruby-label branch (commit 379e233f7c). Cherry-pick it here only after a posthog-ruby release removes EXPERIMENTAL_NOTICE.

Each SDK commit also edits one cell of the install table's Support row. Dropping the Python or TypeScript commit therefore conflicts on that one line (Go, the last SDK commit, drops cleanly). The conflict is deliberate. A table cell can't sit on a line of its own, and a summary commit that sets every cell would let a dropped SDK keep "Supported" silently. When you drop a commit, resolve the conflict by setting that SDK's cell back to Beta.

Left alone on purpose: src/components/Home/Board/index.tsx sets badge: 'BETA' for MCP Analytics, but nothing renders that board (Home/Hero.js has no importers).

The app side is a separate PR in PostHog/posthog. It drops the beta tag from the product manifest.

How tested

  • grep -rniE "beta|early.access|experimental" over contents/docs/mcp-analytics, the tutorial, tools.ts and the MCP product data now matches only the Ruby and Rust labels.
  • prettier@2 --write on the changed TS files produced no diff.
  • Pre-PR gate: two adversarial reviewers (Opus, Sonnet). They found the tutorial line in the wrong commit (moved to TypeScript) and the blog post (now its own commit). Both confirmed the MDX is balanced, no CalloutBox import is left unused, the Go #limits anchor exists, and nothing depends on the removed status.
  • Cloudflare preview https://938acd10.posthog-preview.pages.dev: the overview, start-here, the three surface pages, the Python page, the tutorial and the blog post render with no "beta". The install table shows Supported x3 and Experimental x2. The TypeScript and Go callouts render, and Docs > Analytics > MCP Analytics has no badge.

MCP Analytics goes GA on 2026-11-10 (PostHog/marketing#407). Removes every
product-level beta marker that needs no SDK decision: the start-here "in
beta" callout, the "Open beta" callouts on the API, MCP and web app surface
pages, the web app surface card badge, the docs sidebar badge, the tool's
`status: 'beta'`, and the product page and product analytics copy. Also drops the stale comment claiming the scene is
gated behind an early access feature (no such gate exists in the app).

SDK-level labels (TypeScript, Python, Go, Ruby) are in their own commits.
posthog-python already classifies itself Production/Stable and ships
posthog.mcp in the main package, so the docs-only "Beta SDK" callout is the
last beta marker. Marks Python "Supported" in the installation table.

Drop this commit if Python should keep a beta label at GA.
Replaces the "Beta SDK" callout with a plain pre-1.0 versioning note:
@posthog/mcp is 0.25.x, so "minor releases may break" stays true until v1
ships. Same edit in the tutorial. Marks TypeScript "Supported" in the
installation table.

If @posthog/mcp ships 1.0 before GA, delete the note instead. Drop this
commit if TypeScript should keep its beta label.
Keeps the callout pointing at Limits but drops "beta" from it: Go ships as
supported with documented gaps (no $mcp_tools_list or $mcp_initialize, no
resource or prompt events, no task handling). Marks Go "Supported" in the
installation table.

Drop this commit if Go should keep a beta label at GA.
MCP Analytics goes GA on 2026-11-10, so "currently in beta!" becomes
false on release day.
