perf: sort icon collections once when resolving names - #550
tldr; it sorts a copy of the icon collections list once per array and checks the hyphen with charCodeAt to avoid allocating a string per collection.
the issue was that every time we call useResolvedName, it sorts appConfig.icon.collections (~220 names)... and then we test resolved.startsWith(c + '-') against every collection, which allocates new strings.
this adds a lot of overhead - testing on a demo site with ~690 components + 110 icons, this added 5% to every request
microbenchmark (Node 24, 30 interleaved rounds x 20k calls)
main
branch
delta
per useResolvedName call
3.2 µs
0.74 µs
-77%
per request (110 icons)
~350 µs
~81 µs
~-270 µs
it's even worse on the client, as app config is reactive there, so the in-place sort goes through the proxy. in the same kind of microbenchmark, that's ~14.5 ms on main vs ~0.13 ms with this PR.
because app config can be updated in place on the client (HMR, updateAppConfig), the sorted list is a shared computed there, so icons re-resolve when icon.collections changes. the server gets a fresh clone of app config per request, so it just sorts once.

Walkthrough
The change adds getSortedCollections and resolveName. useResolvedName now delegates name resolution to resolveName. Tests cover selector prefixes, aliases, collection matching, unmatched names, collection updates, and cached array reuse.
Icon names update when collections change through the supported reactive configuration path. No issue requiring a pre-merge fix remains established.

Invalidate the cache when a collection name changes.
If collections[0] changes from 'simple' to 'simple-icons', the array length stays the same. getSortedCollections then returns the old entry, so resolveName('i-simple-icons-github', options) still returns 'simple:icons-github' instead of 'simple-icons:github'. Compare collection contents before reusing the cache, or enforce an immutable-array contract. In useResolvedName, ensure the computed value also tracks any supported in-place edits.
Based on learnings: An identity-keyed cache of mutable caller-provided data needs immutability or versioning.

@danielroe Commit 78ca138 fixes cache invalidation when resolveName runs again on the client. However, toRaw(collections) bypasses Vue’s dependency tracking for array contents. The computed value in useResolvedName therefore does not update after an in-place collection edit.
The new test calls resolveName again explicitly, so it does not cover this remaining case. Please retain reactive tracking for collection contents and add a regression test that reads the same computed value before and after an in-place edit.
I verified this by source inspection; I did not run tests.
