About Tool-Support

Tool Support is a key middleware component and can be used when one writes an IMS LTI 1.3 compliant tool which plugs into Canvas. It is used extensively every day at Oxford and is subject to constant maintenance and improvement.

It handles IMS LTI authentication requests which facilitates IMS LTI 1.3 launches from Canvas and also acts as a broker between a user’s browser and the Canvas API. It services all API requests to Canvas and allows the browser to then proxy requests to the Canvas API.

It is released under the Apache Software License 2.
