This API provides a direct alternative to
SpecifierandSpecifierSetmutable prerelease, which I would like to deprecate.However, upon down a survey of downstream projects, I found many that currently use the mutability of packaging's specifiers. So I will not deprecate until at least the next release after
__replace__is added. I will also open PRs on those projects and add some of them to packaging's downstream tests.
