AI Code Assistant

A professional full-stack application that provides AI-powered code analysis. It helps developers review code, generate documentation, and optimize performance using the Groq Cloud API with Llama 3 models.

This project is organized as a monorepo:

• backend/: Node.js API built with Express, TypeScript, and Groq SDK.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

• Node.js: v18 or higher.
• Groq API Key: Get your free key at console.groq.com.

Installation

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone [https://github.com/taisbronca/ai-code-assistant.git](https://github.com/taisbronca/ai-code-assistant.git)
   cd ai-code-assistant

2. Setup the Backend:

   cd backend
   npm install

   • Create a .env file in the backend/ directory:

     GROQ_API_KEY=your_actual_groq_key_here
     PORT=3001

   • Start the server:

     npm run dev

3. Setup the Frontend:

   cd ../frontend
   npm install
   npm run dev

Security Note

The .env file is included in the .gitignore to protect sensitive information. Never share your GROQ_API_KEY publicly. If you are deploying this project, remember to set the environment variables in your hosting provider's dashboard.
