Part of fells-code/seamless-auth-api#338 (epic fells-code/seamless-auth-api#334).

Change

  • AuthMessagingService.sendEnrollmentInviteEmail({ to, signInUrl, from?, subject? }). It asks a user to sign in and add a passkey, for example after their account was imported from another identity system.
  • The link is the application's normal sign-in page and carries no credential: it opens the sign-in page and signs nobody in. The auth API sends the user into passkey enrollment after they sign in.
  • Like the other flows, it supports a custom handler (handlers.sendEnrollmentInviteEmail, optional, so existing handler sets keep compiling) and a template override (overrides.enrollmentInviteEmail). It validates to and signInUrl.
  • The README lists the method.

Release

This repo releases by version bump plus a GitHub release. main already carries the breaking removal of the bootstrap invite flow (#3) and the Apache-2.0 relicense (#5), so the next release should be 0.2.0. The auth API will depend on it for the invite route.

Checks

npm run release:verify passes: lint, format:check, typecheck, and 10 tests, 3 of them new.

sendEnrollmentInviteEmail asks a user to sign in and add a passkey, for
example after their account was imported. The link is the application's
sign-in page and carries no credential. Supports a custom handler and a
template override like the other flows.
