ci: mise instead of corepack, tooling on Node 26 - #861
The repository pins its toolchain in mise.toml, but the Integrity workflow still installed Yarn through corepack and Node 18 through actions/setup-node, and the pinned Node (20.18.0) was older than what oxlint, oxfmt and vite ask for (^20.19.0 || >=22.12.0). Corepack is no longer distributed with Node from 25.0.0, so the corepack step would break as soon as Node moved forward.
This lets CI install Node and Yarn from the same mise.toml contributors use, and moves that toolchain to Node 26.12.1. The action keeps running on node24, the newest runtime GitHub Actions offers; #863 tracks moving it to Node 26 once Actions supports it.
CI: mise instead of corepack (.github/workflows/integrity-check.yml)
The corepack step and actions/setup-node are replaced by jdx/mise-action@v5, installing only node and yarn.
yarn config get cacheFolder is still resolved after the tools are installed. The same step records node --version, which the yarn cache key now uses instead of a hard-coded node-18.
Every other step is unchanged.
Node 26 for tooling, Node 24 for the action runtime
@types/node 17 → 24.19.2 and engines.node>=24, matching the node24 runtime that dist/index.js runs on. The type checker then rejects Node 26-only APIs that would fail at runtime.
TypeScript 4.7.4 → 6.0.3, because @types/node 24 needs TypeScript 5.2+. TypeScript 7 does not install under Yarn 4.14.1 (its built-in TypeScript patch looks for lib/_tsc.js, which 7 no longer ships). tsconfig.json moves from node (node10) resolution, deprecated in 6.0, to nodenext. The output stays CommonJS.
dist/ is rebuilt; the differences are emitter helpers only (__importStar, export assignment order).
CONTRIBUTING.md now points to mise install, not "Node v18+ and Yarn v1.22+".
Verified
On Node 26.12.1 / Yarn 4.14.1 via mise exec --, all of these pass: yarn install --immutable, yarn lint, yarn typecheck, yarn typecheck:tsgo, yarn test:ci --coverage (43 tests) and yarn build.
The Tests job under act pull_request -j tests on catthehacker/ubuntu:act-latest succeeded: mise installed node 26.12.1 and yarn 4.14.1, and the yarn cache was saved under node-v26.12.1. The Codecov upload step was left out of that local run so it would not publish coverage.
The build-tests workflows on this PR run the rebuilt dist/ on the node24 runtime on Ubuntu, Windows and macOS.
There is no vercel.json, firebase.json, Dockerfile or .nvmrc in this repository.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Chores
Updated project setup to use the configured Node.js and Yarn versions, with dependency caching based on the detected Node.js version.
The project now requires Node.js 24 or newer.
Documentation
Updated contribution instructions to explain how to install the configured tools before running project commands.
Node 25+ no longer ships corepack. The integrity job now installs node and yarn from mise.toml through jdx/mise-action, and keys the yarn cache on the resolved node version.

Walkthrough
The project updates its pinned and minimum Node.js versions, TypeScript dependencies, and module settings. Setup instructions and the integrity workflow now use mise to install Node and Yarn. The workflow uses the detected Node version in its Yarn cache configuration.
The pinned Node.js version changes to 26.12.1, and the minimum supported version changes to 24. The Node type definitions and TypeScript versions are updated, and the module settings change to nodenext. Setup instructions now use mise install and describe the pinned Node and Yarn versions.
Toolchain setup and cache .github/workflows/integrity-check.yml
The workflow installs Node and Yarn with jdx/mise-action@v5. It records the detected Node version and uses it in the Yarn cache key and restore prefix.
game-ci/unity-builder#862: Adds a format-check step to the same integrity workflow and reformats a test file. The PR description identifies it as a follow-up to a formatting failure surfaced during these checks.

Pin the new action to a full commit SHA.
jdx/mise-action@v5 is a mutable tag. If the tag moves, this job can execute different action code without a workflow change. Pin the reviewed release’s full commit SHA and retain v5 in a comment. GitHub recommends full SHAs for immutable action references. (docs.github.com)
Based on learnings: third-party CI actions must use full immutable commit SHAs instead of mutable tags.

StandaloneOSX on 2023.2.22f1 (Builds - MacOS) failed with Dedicated Server support for MacStandalone is not installed. This PR doesn't cause it. The job restored another job's Library through the catch-all Library- restore key (Library-test-project-ubuntu-StandaloneLinux64-2023.2.22f1-). The Ubuntu matrix builds -standaloneBuildSubtarget Server under the same cache key as the Player builds. With no subtarget passed, the build script hands Unity StandaloneBuildSubtarget.Default, and BuildPipeline.BuildPlayer then uses the EditorUserBuildSettings.standaloneBuildSubtarget persisted in that Library (Server). The macOS runner has no Mac Dedicated Server module, so the build fails.
@types/node now matches the node24 runtime the action runs on; @types/node 24 needs TypeScript 5.2+. tsconfig moves to nodenext resolution (node10 is deprecated in TypeScript 6) and dist is rebuilt with the new emitter.
mise.toml pins Node 26.12.1, which the Integrity job now installs through mise-action. The action runtime stays node24, the highest GitHub Actions offers.

Run Yarn through mise or require shell activation.
When the contributor has not activated mise, mise install does not update the current shell PATH. The following yarn command can fail or use a different installation. Require mise shell activation or change the command to mise exec -- yarn. (mise.jdx.dev)

The macOS Server-subtarget failure noted above now has a fix: #864 keys the Library caches per build configuration (its StandaloneOSX on 2023.2.22f1 passed on its own cache key), and game-ci/cli#302 makes the build script build the Player when no subtarget is passed. The action runtime staying on node24 is tracked in #863.
